Short version: this is a static content site. We don't run accounts, we don't sell data, and we collect as little as possible.

What we collect
Canadian Halal Investor does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name or financial details. If you join the newsletter, we store the email address you provide so we can send you new screeners and screening updates — nothing else. If you request a portfolio builder report by email, we store the address to send that report and keep a copy of the portfolio you modelled so the report can be generated; ticking the optional updates box also adds you to the newsletter. If you use the Ask a Scholar service, we store your question and email address so we can send you the answer — your email is never used for marketing and never shared. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we never sell or share your email. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and reliability purposes.
Cookies
We may use cookies or similar technologies for:
- Analytics — to understand which articles readers find useful, in aggregate. No individual profiling.
- Advertising — if we display ads (for example through Google AdSense), the ad provider may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including interest-based ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.
Affiliate links
There are currently no affiliate links anywhere on this site: we have not joined any affiliate programs yet (our Impact application was declined; Wealthsimple and IBKR inquiries are pending), and no commissions have been earned. If affiliate links are added in the future, this policy and the site's affiliate disclosures will be updated, and those links will be labeled.

Links to third-party sites (brokerages, fund providers, screening tools) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies, not this one.
Children
This site is intended for adults researching investing topics and is not directed at children under 13.
